Youth Intramural

Perkiomen Valley Soccer Club’s Intramural Youth program is for boys and girls ages 5 through 8. It is open to all children living in the Perkiomen Valley School District and surrounding area. The goal of this program is to introduce young children to the sport of soccer and participation in team sports, as well as develop players by teaching them how to play the game.

Our club prides itself on providing a safe and fun environment for all young players.

The PVSC Intramural Youth program runs two seasons per calendar year: spring (April – June) and fall (September – November). Each season is structured to run 7 or 8 weeks, and seasons may be extended in the event of weather-related cancellations. Games are played on Sunday afternoons, with kickoff times at either 12:30 P.M., 1:45 P.M., or 3:00 P.M. All games will take place at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West.

Intramural Youth teams will practice once per week (Monday – Friday) for 45-60 minutes. Practice day, time, and location are all determined at the discretion of the coaching staffs. Potential practice locations are Limerick Community Park, Perkiomen Valley Middle School West, and South Elementary. In the event of practice-related conflicts, we will do our best to honor any team transfer requests.

Divisions

Teams and players are separated by age and gender in order to foster the most appropriate competitive environment:

  • U7 Boys (ages 5 and 6)
  • U7 Girls (ages 5 and 6)
  • U9 Boys (ages 7 and 8)
  • U9 Girls (ages 7 and 8)

Costs

Program registration is currently $150 per child, per season. Registration includes team placement, a numbered jersey, black shorts, and black soccer socks. Please note that players are also required to have shin guards and an appropriately-sized soccer ball (size 3), which are not provided. Cleats (non-metal) are recommended, although not required. Each player is awarded a competitor medal at the conclusion of each season. Youth Intramural (U7-U9) players may participate in a season-end playoff tournament, as well.

Coaches

All of our coaches are volunteers, and we couldn’t run the program without their involvement. If you’re interested in getting involved at the coaching level, please feel free to reach out to our team or simply volunteer for a head coach or assistant coach position when you are registering your child for the upcoming season. We provide coaching clinics at the beginning of each system and also offer a variety of resources throughout the year to help you along the way.

Tournaments

We’re proud to offer a one-day playoff tournament at the conclusion of each season for our Youth Intramural (U7-U9) teams. The Battle for Asgard concludes our fall season, while the Clash at Valhalla wraps up the spring. Medals are awarded to finalists and champions, and each team is guaranteed multiple games.
